An electrical gun that accelerates a conductive projectile along a pair of rails, the Railgun Tower makes up for its limited range with high damage and an infinite line of fire.
The Railgun Tower is one of the more advanced towers, obtained mid game. It is slightly different from the other Defensive Towers. Like all the other towers, it has a firing range (and dispite what the game says it acually is quite long), but when the Railgun fires, the shot will make an infinite line of electricity, damaging all monsters in the line of electricity.D.A.V.E. Since it can deal damage to multiple monsters at a time, it can take out mobs of weak monsters, such as Bolt, in just one or a few shots. In addition, the splash damage dealt in a straight line works well with pathing.
As with all towers, the Railgun does have a few weaknesses. One example of a weak point of this tower is that it has the slowest reload speed of all towers. It takes four seconds after firing to reload before being able to fire another shot. If a monster is strong and fast enough, it can head towards the Railgun and destroy it. Another weak point of this tower is that it can only fire at ground monsters.
Overall, the Railgun Tower is a solid addition to a well-designed base, and should never be overlooked.
